2) BMD

Yesterday's efforts were celebrated appropriately with curry, cheesecake, chocolate cake and a good slosh of red wine at my brother's house last night. Consequently, I tricked my body into action today by disguising the run as a trip to recover the abandoned car. Following the race, I fully expected to ache a lot more today; however, the only truly painful part of my body appeared to be my tummy. I think about 50% of the calories I burned yesterday were used by my poor stomach muscles (or what remains of them) trying to hinder my post-Christmas Belly of Mass Destruction's chances of global destruction.

I've just logged my run on Running Free and thought how fitting the option "Running - Carrying Weight" is.

Day 2 - Vehicle recovery run
Distance: 4.2 miles
Time: 0:48:28
Pace: 11:32 min/mile
Cake rating: 4/5 (bellycentric aching distracting slightly from pretty Herefordshire roads today)

Cumulative Janathising: 10.4 miles

  1. a truly frightening video. consider posting a warning next time. small children could be within viewing distance. and they should grow up without fear.

  2. How odd, we were discussing this old Reebok ad today too! Belly's gonna get you... have there ever been scarier and more motivating words?! 4 miles after yesterday is excellent... well done.

  3. I love that advert! I celebrated with curry yesterday too, but foot arch pain meant I couldn't run it off today, bad times. Well done!

  4. I really like the way you celebrated your efforts with curry and red wine, brilliant!!! I also love your transforming 'cake' character! I'm going to finish Janathon if only to get back into my clothes and the Xmas belly off, keep up the good work! K x

  7. I'd forgotten how much I love that advert! It's the bit in the lift that gets me... I read your post yesterday on Google Reader, so I hadn't seen all of the fabulous illustrations on your blog - lovely!

  8. Someone after my own heart... good food and red wine is the way to celebrate any run... of course that's why I had a similar experience today. Between them, my belly and bum had a distinct gravitational pull; that was disturbing enough, but now I've watched that advert I think I'll be on a diet tomorrow! :-)

  9. I watched half ton man yesterday.
That was even scarier than Belly's gonna get you.
Hasn't stopped me from making myself some pastry/mincemeat goodness today though ;)
